Assignment of affiliate IDs
When a buyer clicks on a CopeCart affiliate link, we store their affiliate ID in a cookie. This technology works with CopeCart as it does with all other affiliate platforms. This ensures that the affiliate receives their commission when the buyer subsequently completes the checkout form.
Initial situation: Have you thought about how you can capture a sale when someone registers for a webinar on their smartphone but then attends it on their PC and in a different browser? The CopeCart Pixel is not present there and therefore the sale cannot be attributed to you.
Solution: With cross-device webinar tracking, it is possible to attribute the sale to a recommending affiliate even if someone attends a webinar on different devices, at different times and with different browsers.
Instructions for multi-device webinar tracking
Find out and make sure that your webinar software can save links without any problems!
Create your webinar invitation page by adding it as a sales page or "link to sales page" in your CopeCart product settings.
Check that your webinar software correctly stores the affiliate ID that CopeCart attaches to each sales page, and that your CopeCart affiliate link looks like this: https://www.copecart.com/products/{product-ID}/p/{affiliate-ID}/, where {product-ID} is of course your product ID and {affiliate-ID} is replaced with the ID of each affiliate. If your webinar invitation page has the (example) format https://meinewebinarseite.com/webinar-xyz, CopeCart will automatically convert this URL to the following URL when the affiliate link is clicked: https://meinewebinarseite.com/webinar-xyz/?affiliate_id={affiliate-ID}. Note that CopeCart sends the affiliate ID to your webinar invitation page so that its webinar software can save the affiliate ID of the affiliate. This affiliate ID must be saved by your webinar software in the profile of the registered webinar participant.
For all purchases that you enable via your webinar software (banners, buttons, etc.), use your CopeCart affiliate ID as the link parameter that your webinar software has saved. Your purchase link in the webinar will look like this again: https://www.copecart.com/products/{product-ID}/p/{affiliate-ID}/, where {product-ID} is of course your product ID and under {affiliate-ID} your webinar software automatically enters the affiliate ID of the affiliate to whom the webinar participant is assigned.
Tip: Include your affiliate ID in your email marketing software during webinar registration - this way you can dynamically transfer your affiliate's CopeCart ID in purchase links to ensure that your affiliates are rewarded for their follow-up campaigns and thus secure a commission.
Test your setup thoroughly before you launch your webinar campaign! This will ensure that everything works as it should.
